Savvas Optical in the Old Town and at the Harbour.
Have used him for 10 years and although his equipment
is a little dated, his prescriptions are spot on.
His after sales service is what you should expect and
always does a good deal.

Like you Jim, we have tried some you mention, with bad results that nearly cost my wife her eyesight.
However for a few years now we have used 'Eye Contact' on Tomb of the Kings Road. In fact we both ordered glasses from there only last Saturday..

Cheers Trev..

I gave up trying to make contact and just went down, had an eye examination by Panicos, pick up my new specs early next week. I have used him many years ago (13 years) he has not changed that much.

By the way Trev did you join his discount offer?

Also thanks to the other members recommendations.

He usually works out if it is better cost wise to get the voucher or not. As it happens I am having free frames so not I did not need the voucher.

We have both now collected our new glasses from Eye Contact.. Hilary got hers last Saturday, and I have just collected mine today.
Mine were for computer work and had to be just right for the distance that the laptop screen is away from my eyes. This in my case is just about an arms length away.

We have used Eye Contact before but not for computer glasses. I was a little worried as my old ones were 10 years old... But I am using them now, and they are Brilliant. Well done Panicos

A while back when I was in Sales and Marketing. An old friend of mine who is a retired Optician. Told me that the average profit margin on the FRAMES for spectacles is a whopping 300%!! So do shop around and haggle. :)

Tried Eye Contact once on the back of a voucher and will not do so again.
First he sold the wrong frame for the glasses I wanted, then he found a different frame but only for the glasses I did not want.
So the whole affair took three weeks instead of one and the frame now has corrosion all over the place (after a year).

It is a shame when the experience does not go right, and of course you do right to point this out.

We have been to other opticians and had a bad experience. So bad that my wife sought a second opinion from Marie the eye consultant.. I had to rush her to Limassol the same afternoon for laser treatment that the 'optician' said was OK. Of course we will never go there to that optician again.

That is why we went to Eye Contact with top class results... for us.

All fine, no reason to believe it is a bad shop.
Just my singular personal experience was not good.
