I'd try AA Homeflame of the other log burner/fire shop further up the Polis Rd on the same side (name escapes me sorry) but it's after that Mesogi roundabout!

Our log burner has a convection fan. Our kids (whose log burner doesn't have a convection fan) claim that our log burner throws out two to three times as much heat as theirs. Many designs of log burner are not suited for a convection fan, but if you can you should go for it, even though it adds to the initial cost.

Thermodynamics, much further up the Polis Rd on the RHS installed our log burner and are VERY highly recommended.

Tremithousajohn, the link didn't work for me. The fan comes as an integral OEM part of our log burner, albeit as an extra and at significantly more than €12.50! Just glad we took the option though, it really makes a difference.

I have an gas flame fitted gas fire, no mess switch on and off it has a blower, very quiet and fairly efficient, I did try AA homeflame but they never turned up, so we went to Thermodynamics @ upper Pollis Road, not cheap though but safe good looking heaters, they have a good selection of gas fitted fires and log burners.

Barbas log effect gas fire, LPG of course.

Thanks for your replies, I have tried Thermodynamics who installed our log burner, but they don't have any and AA Homeflame say they are getting some in in the new year. Our log burner doesn't have a built in fan but on the following link there is a short video showing how the type I want works http://www.thegreenage.co.uk/how-do-stove-fans-work/

Rambo

If you are in a hurry just place a cradle fan high up (on a shelf p.a.)
at the far end of the room, away from the fire place and let it run on low.
The hot air up your room will slowly come down to lower areas and increase
the temperature a lot. (3-5 C) This is more effective than a convection built in fan as much more air is moving.
To change temperature one needs a lot of air...
I tried that myself as I had in my house in Italy a built in convection fan (12watt) in my log burner and was not impressed.
